Sorry I didn't find this sooner, I was flipping through an older issue of National Geographic Magazine and stumbled upon the "Ultimate Photographer" photograph contest. You can submit up to 8 photographs, one for each of the entry categories ( Adventure/Exploration, Travel, Weather, Science, Space, Wildlife/Nature, People/Cultures or Festivals/Celebrations ) Entry only takes a few minutes and you know you have those really good shots hiding in your mypictures file folder!
Prize Descriptions:
- The Grand Prize winner in the Energizer® Ultimate Photo Contest will receive a National Geographic Expeditions trip for two (2) to Tanzania and Zanzibar, accompanied by a National Geographic expert. You will journey to the land that still bears the origins of man. Witness one of the world's most spectacular wildlife migrations. Explore a region of Africa, in the presence of experts, where the web of life dominates the landscape. This unforgettable vision quest concludes on the beautiful island of Zanzibar in the Indian Ocean.
- The Grand Prize winner's photograph will also be published in the December 2008 issue of National Geographic magazine.
- 8 finalists will win a bunch of cool stuff.
I would also like to introduce another little avenue that Les and I thought would be fun to have. We have been very fortunite over the years to have been able to do a little traveling and have captured some great moments in photographs. Our best photographic work from close to home as well as cross country travel is now available online for viewing, downloading, and purchasing prints.
