Net worth update - June-part II 2008

by Ry@SpillingBuckets | 7/04/2008 in |

June has been a good month for learning and exploring alternative forms of income, and although very busy with events and work, we were able to create some new opportunities.

Since our last update on 6/15/08 we were very fortunate to have been able to add $1,005 to our assets and increase our net worth by 2.62%. This brings our total net worth to -$25,060, a big hole but we are definitely getting closure to the light and fresh air. In 2.5 months we have been able to fill in over $8k worth bringing us that much closer to the surface.

Where did you come from, where did you go, where did you come from Spilling Bucket's Dough:

Here is where we stand historically in relation to other net worth updates:

Alternative income is also something we are tracking very closely now and working to grow at every opportunity. Here is our most current list of sources ranked in order of earnings to date.

It has also been a month of construction: We have been busy working on some new ideas and streams that are almost ready to go public, the Spilling Bucket's Toolbox site is getting a face lift, and we have some changes we would like to make to the main page here too (navigation and decluttering are big ones).

Our current list of goals as we discover what it means to be wealthy, abandon the deferred life plan, and work to design a fulfilling and sustainable life.

  • Emergency fund of 6-9 months living expenses. Accomplished: June '08

  • Save for a down payment on a house. Accomplished! May '09 Holy moley, we bought a house!
  • When we started this blog we set a goal to have a party on the date we crossed over to zero net worth. We made it! January 6th, 2010!
  • 100% debt free.
We know the normal thinking about low interest student loan and mortgage debt, but just think how weird would it be to be debt free. How many unique things could we do with little or no major financial obligations and no payments. Gets the mind working, huh?
  • PhotobucketThanks to your support we have been able to provide over $553 in microloans and charitable donations helping to share some of the many opportunities we have with others who may just need a little boost.

Help spread opportunity today: We suggest visiting Kiva.org, Serve.gov or Points of Light to find a local volunteer organization.
