Early on in our blog we both read "Five Major Pieces to the Life Puzzle", by Jim Rohn.
This book was life changing, and as soon as we read it we were all gung-ho for changing our lifestyles for the better.
One of the key messages in the book was this: It's easy to... and it's also easy NOT to.
In other words - it's easy to put your dishes in the dish washer after dinner, but it's also easy not to. It's easy to put off exercising until tomorrow, and it's easy to do it right now...
If you are anything like us than you know that it's easy to start changing your life, but just as easy to fall back into the same routines that you tried to get out of. It is much harder to stick with the changes you that implemented when you were wrapped up in the fervor of something new.
Yesterday I was thinking about this saying again, and realized how easy it was for me to let it slip from my mind and from my actions.
Ryan and I have been trying to change many things and have had a really difficult time making them permanent. To remedy this return to laziness, I made a sign that is now on our wall under the clock. The sign simply says: It's easy too, and it's easy not to.
I want to see the sign every morning when I am tempted to procrastinate online. I want to see the sign every night when we are tempted to watch TV instead of doing what really needs to be done. I want to see the sign every time I put off doing the laundry. I want to see it everywhere everyday. Because I know the constant reminder is needed to help me finally, and permanently, change.
It's Easy Not To....
